I enjoy spending my time outside, either hiking, going to the beach, or exploring new areas. I also like to race in marathons and half marathons, so I spend a lot of time running after work.
What defines your personality?
Compassionate, empathetic, and determined are three characteristics that define me well.
Why Did You Choose A Career In Medicine?
I chose a career in medicine because it is a field where you never stop learning. There is always something evolving, which keeps it engaging. Getting to use your knowledge to improve people’s quality of life is a great privilege of working in this field.
Favorite Procedures or Surgeries You Like to Perform
My favorite procedure is suturing and leaving as minimal a scar as possible.
Goals that you have either personally, professionally or both
Professionally, I plan to continue learning how to provide the best patient outcomes possible and to find ways to help serve communities with limited access to healthcare. A personal goal of mine is to qualify for the Boston Marathon.
Most influential mentor you've worked with
During my general surgery rotation, I worked with a doctor who had been practicing for over 40 years. The compassion and fulfillment he showed toward all his patients was inspiring to see after so many years in the field.
